Lincoln, glad you're on the case with your reporting. I moved to Lamoine, just off the Island, last summer (year rounder) and greatly appreciate how you're filling a gap that exists now in too many communities - entreprising local journalism.
Nothing new presented tonight but a few public comments for the ordinance to restrict. The battle lines are drawn, and we need to encourage the Town Council to use some of the $24 Million annual budget to fight the cruise ship companies lawsuit. The Town Council can't complain about the legal costs when they have approved a 2023 budget of $24 Million an increase of 10% over last year.
A lot of filler in this suit that is completely irrelevant. I see Andy Hamilton is the attorney. Best be sure that there are not back door deals being made as happened in other towns. It seemed to me that the town was pretty busy in 2020 and certainly in 2021. Is there data on this (besides October 2020)? Correlation is not causation as we all learned in high school.
This may need to be a grassroots push back on companies like Ocean Properties who care nothing about the towns or people on their schedules. Enough already with companies who only care about $.
Thank you for the heads up on this important meeting. The TC should make a vigorous defense of the ordinance passed by the majority of the residents.

Where at the town website can I find the budget for 2022?

What else does Ocean Properties own?
