Thank you for the great coverage. Just one little quibble is you have repeatedly mentioned that FL De Santis squashed the Key West citizen initiative (called “cleaner-safer ships) against large cruise ships. We have owned a house in Key West since 2011, so I’m very aware of this issue. Large cruise ships can only park at the privately owned Walsh pier B. Key West no longer allows large cruise ships at the city nor at the US Coast Guard/US Navy pier. While we used to have several large cruise ships daily we are now down to only one. Still bad but a huge improvement.
Thank you Lincoln for keeping this issue in the public eye. I am sure the judge follows the press and in this case you are the only one reporting the facts. And thank you Charles Sidman for leading the fight, spending your own money to defend not only the residents but the environment.
Has anyone noticed that the APPLL losers are back on social media crying and whining about how crooked and terrible the local town council is? It took a couple days but they are back...
I’ve definitely noticed some heat but not much pertaining to the cruise ship ruling. If you’re paying attention one or two members have clear conflicts that aren’t being recognized. I, myself anyways, wouldn’t be so quick to label it as “crooked” or “corrupt” so much as I would label as discouraging and pretty tone def. Most of the criticism for council I’ve seen is actually pretty fair. Disconnected and out of touch with BH and reality as a whole and littered with incompetence
It's gotta hurt having to pay for both sides of the lawsuit and come away empty-handed right? I look forward to finding out the total legal fees the town had to come up with to defend the citizens vote.
"Citizens of Bar Harbor and their pied piper Charles Sidman..."
Yes, Sidman has helped rid Bar Harbor of a plague, by vanquishing some super rats, but the meaning and use of 'pied piper' does not seem to fit. Ultimately the pied piper took Hamlin's future (its children) while Sidman has helped preserve Bar Harbor's future for us and our next generations.
*Serious Concern of the Day*
"I wouldn’t want to be on the wrong side of the only federal judge in these parts and who is young - 52-years-old."
I wouldn't want to be on the wrong side of the law when arguing before Judge Lance Walker, who while giving fools all the rope to hang themselves during proceedings, does not suffer fools gladly in his decisions.

Dubious Metaphor of the Day -

There, fixed it for you.
