Thank you for covering cruise ship news in Portland and supporting our work. We are a new volunteer organization and working very hard to bring awareness to the cruise ship issues in Portland, which are numerous! Hearing from so many people who suffered health impacts from this massive polluting ship was really difficult to witness. No form of "entertainment" in our harbor has the right to make residents sick.
I don’t understand why people pay to get on a floating mall crammed with drunks and norovirus lurking in the public spaces. These passengers are dropped en mass on communities. Do they spend money for local wares when they are in these “assaulted” ports? They should.
What are the requirements and restrictions for Large cruise ships in Bar Harbor? Can we file an RTK to find out? Please advise. This cruise ship pollution is promoted by the BH chamber of commerce, COA and Friends of Acadia. It’s time to shut it down.

When they tell you cruise ships aren't big polluters . . . .
Great activism for the health of local people and environment and great reporting about the fact that cruise are mega polluters!
And what a visual blight on Portland’s pretty waterfront.

These barges are giant pollution vessels.
Portland, we give a shit around here.
Interesting article. Why did they not ask to go to Bath? ….Too bad the only green Bar Harbor cares about is money.

Into Portland???? Surely Bath ironworks? If they’re still around?!
Portland must not have a town run by money grubbers, sounds like a nice place to live.
thank you, Lincoln, for this reporting-and for all of your reporting!
