I wonder if the nimbyists who oppose the workforce housing project in NEH watched It’s a Wonderful Life over the holidays. They’re just like Mr. Potter.
Whoever thought it was a good idea to let COA students run Sawyers market made a huge and costly mistake. I know firsthand that the COA students had no idea how to run a business. What a disaster.
The downfall of Sawyers is so sad. It always was the best shopping anywhere on the island or Ellsworth. David$$milliken buying it and turning it over to a kid who knew nothing about SWH or its residents is an instant failure. Shame on you both.
Why would you let college students who have never run a business in their lives take this over? It’s mind-boggling. I know someone who worked there. She was flabbergasted by how inept they were. She quit.

No one covers the area like this, excellent.
You missed Tom Cat Tide that is also open in SWH and of course the stalwart Carroll Drug - a true anchor.
I will correct in my next post. Also missed Rogue Cafe.
