The problem with current Bar Harbor Town Council is that they lack a world view, they are NOT serving the community and they lack VISION.............. combined that with the College of Atlantic and other academic institutions who will not speak out or help guide common sense solutions. What we are left with is a government controlled by lawsuits and big businesses corrupting our ecosystem and town government. Vote no on the Cruise ship ordinance seems like a good message to send to this council, in my opinion.

Oh, the hypocrisy of COA and the Town Council’s appointed Climate Emergency Task Force…..even young activist Greta Thun took a very bare bones sailboat to come to America to spread her message of climate emergency. Now COA supports cruise ships that pollute the air and the waters of the very whales and entire marine ecosystem that COA purports to study and protect. The CETF is starting to look just like a green washing effort to make Bar Harbor look good. So sad to see COA grads supporting these enormous polluting ships that are a menace to the entire global community and environment.

It is very fashionable to be ecologically minded. As long as others are paying for it.

Thank you!! It's sad, indeed, to see our public discussion hijacked by narrowly defined economic interests. People have made a living in Bar Harbor for generations before any cruise ships landed here. Who benefits, ultimately, if we lose the health and well-being of our air, our water, and our land?
