BREAKING NEWS: Mount Desert police arrest protester at Leonard Leo's ... See video
NORTHEAST HARBOR, July 31, 2022 - A 23-year-old protester was arrested in front of Leonard leo’s house at 46 South Shore Road this afternoon by Mount Desert police, according to fellow protesters who sent this video to the QSJ.
Protesters have been in front of Leo’s house for about a month. This week, Leo’s guards have been shooting videos of the protesters and their license plates, including mine. Also, protesters have been encouraged drivers to honk their horns. The town does not have a noise ordinance.
The QSJ will send out dispatches as this story develops. Leonard Leo is the Federalist Society operative credited with arming the courts with Donald Trump’s judiciary nominations.
I first met Leonard Leo over thirty years ago. He is a gentleman and a man of integrity. Some may disagree with his views, however he is a family man of character. I feel badly that his personal residence is the subject of intrusive protests that are designed to chill his right to advocate for what he feels is right. I am embarrassed and ashamed for the protesters. They show a lack of respect for a fellow human being. So sad.
It seems pretty clear to me that you can't elect representatives that will advocate and legislate your views. Sure, terrorize a guy who has done what you wish you could do. Stop attacking individuals. Why not use your energy to elect representatives that share your views? No wonder this country is so polarized. You either have the votes or you don't. Either way why not be civil and respectful. Also, I post under my real name not some anonymous user name like many do. Let's encourage dialog not hate speech. We have much more in common than you may think.
