UPDATE: NEH citizens start counter petition to support workforce housing project
NORTHEAST HARBOR, Jan. 2, 2022 - A group of local residents has launched a counter petition to blunt the efforts of 205 residents who oppose a workforce housing project in town, including that of Leonard Leo, the dark money operative at 46 South Shore Drive who was the target of a summer-long protest in front of his home.
The nascent counter petition is here: https://www.ipetitions.com/petition/support-for-mdi-affordable-housing
The protestors blamed Leo for his work to place right-wing judges in the Judiciary, including most of the current Supreme Court justices.
The QSJ attempted numerous times to talk to Leo, leaving my card with his guards but never got a response.
On Saturday, the QSJ published the names and addresses of all the signatories who sided with Leo against proposed project. Here is the list: https://drive.google.com/file/d/1wb6lZ_MxAbHi3cfjHbc_zM_CW52vZnsm/view
Leo did not initiate the petition, but at least one signatory said she did not understand the full implication of the petition and asked that her name be removed. No one else has since withdrawn that I know of. Here was my original post:
