BREAKING NEWS: Jeff Dobbs resigns from Bar Harbor council
BAR HARBOR, March 7, 2023 - Town Council member Jeff Dobbs, who suffered a massive heart attack in January, appeared at the council meeting tonight and announced he is resigning.
He cited his heart ailment as well as kidney damage and said at Age 73 he wanted to focus on his health.
That leaves four seats up for election but it was unclear when Dobb’s seat will be filled.
Town Clerk Liz Graves is on maternity leave until May 6.
Jeff Dobbs has been a friend since the 1970's. He had a business on Main Street in Northeast Harbor in those days called 'Down to the Sea in Ships". He has had a great inpact on all of MDI, not just Bar Harbor. Thanks Jeff for your service to our Island Community.
I can only commend Jeff Dobbs as an outstanding figure for the town of Bar Harbor. He has given his life to this town in his commitment to his businessss as Dobbs Produtiions, and his life long passiion to his belief in supporting the will of the people. I will be forever grateful to his serivce.
